Dramatherapy is a form of psychological therapy that integrates theatre and creative arts within a therapeutic framework. Dramatherapists are both clinicians and artists, drawing on drama, story-making, music, movement, and art to help clients explore and address personal challenges in a safe, creative, and often indirect way. Through these methods, clients experience emotional, psychological, and social growth. Dramatherapists work in a variety of settings — including schools, healthcare, social care, and community organisations — with individuals and groups across all ages and abilities. Sessions can involve both verbal and non-verbal techniques. While storytelling and discussion are key elements, dramatherapy also makes extensive use of embodiment and movement, allowing participants to express and process experiences beyond words.
